AMY WINEHOUSE-entered rehab

TROUBLED AMY WINEHOUSE has entered rehab, her record company has announced.
The singer decided to check in to the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors.
The drug-shame star’s desperate dad Mitch, 57, wants one of the singer’s trusted pals - or a hired professional - to stay with her around the clock. Under the new “tough love” approach, the minder would live with 24-year-old Amy and even SLEEP outside her room.
The scheme emerged as it was revealed that the singer gave up drugs for just ONE DAY after The Sun this week exposed a shocking video showing her smoking deadly crack. Pals said Amy kept herself clean on Tuesday in the hours after our story broke - but turned back early yesterday to the drugs ruining her life.
She reportedly admitted for the first time she has a drug problem and understands that "she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction".
Her record company are still hoping she can perform at this year's Grammy Awards.
She had earlier been placed under 24-hour surveillance after her family drew up a raft of last-ditch measures to save her from destruction.
Kicking off her new regime, two specially-appointed guards later began guarding the Back to Black star’s flat in Bow, East London, from hangers-on.
A pal said: “Mitch realises this is crunch time. Amy either chooses life or oblivion. “The family have been keeping a very close eye on her for weeks now.
“In fact, her brother was with her just one hour before she was filmed smoking crack.
"But Mitch now realises that even this is not enough any more and she needs 24-hour surveillance.”
Cabbie Mitch last night called a “crisis meeting” of family and pals to discuss the plan.
He said: “Obviously I’m worried. Who wouldn’t be?”
Police are investigating our footage, showing Amy on crack while ALREADY smashed on cocaine, ecstasy and Valium.

Amy Winehouse's father has dashed hopes the star will perform at this year's (08) Grammy Awards - insisting his troubled daughter is not ready for the pressure of a live show.
London cab driver Mitch Winehouse fears the star is too fragile to cope with performing at such a prestigious event, but is happy she is finally getting the help she needs.
The 24-year-old was admitted to a rehab treatment centre in London last week (ends25jan08) in a bid to put her drug problems behind her.
